Task 10

Publication Plan

  • Title: Music
  • Positioning statement: Music makes the world go round

  • Frequency of publication: Monthly

  • Price: £2.50

  • Distribution: Newsagents and supermarkets, music stores, arenas.

  • Rationale: The approach of the magazine is very much what the readers want to know. We will offer chart hits and musician’s gossip, and articles and interviews will focus very much on what the readers want to know and ask singers/bands, rather than what we ask them and what we want to know ourselves.

  • Style: Informal and fun style, using humour but not afraid to offer strong comments on bad music! The magazine is for all pop music fans and so will use simple vocabulary and syntax following the red top tabloid style of writing and presentation, with short paragraphs lots of pictures and slang but not bad language.

Regular Content

  • Editor’s letter
  • Fans forum (letters)
  • Quiz time- Music quiz of the months latest hit and artists
